WHAT IS
COMMUNITY
SOLAR?
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has allocated 3.13 megawatts (MW) of solar generation for Clean Power Alliance (CPA) customers under the Community Solar Green Tariff. CPA will provide residents within a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) in CPA service territory with access to 100% clean energy and 20% discounts off their electricity bill. This program allows developers to build small-scale solar facilities within these under-resourced communities that may not otherwise have access to clean power, making clean power accessible to everyone.

SOLAR DEVELOPER
COMMUNITY SPONSORS
A local nonprofit organization that provides information about Power Share to the community by educating and helping to sign up residents. The community sponsor can utilize 25% of the power from the project site and receive a 20% discount on its electric bill.
PROJECT SITE
This is the location where solar arrays are located. Sites must be within a Disadvantage Community (DAC) and within 5 miles of DAC CPA service territory. Please see this map to determine project site eligibility.
ELIGIBLE CUSTOMERS
They are in the local community and utilize power from the project. Customers must live in a DAC and within 5 miles of the project site. At least 50% of customers enrolled in Community Solar must be on a CARE/FERA rate. Customers receive a 20% discount on top of other bill discounts they may already receive including CARE.
