Advisor, Regulatory Affairs

CPA seeks to advance clean energy policy goals that reflect local priorities of its member agencies and innovative programs that serve local communities. To further this mission, CPA is seeking a motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented team member to provide analytical, case management and other support to our regulatory affairs team. The regulatory affairs team advocates for clean energy policies on behalf of CPA at various state regulatory agencies, including the California Public Utilities Commission, the California Energy Commission, and the California Independent System Operator.

Analyst, Rates and Strategy

The Analyst, Rates and Strategy, supports rate setting and rate implementation, coordinates and supports annual operational goal setting and strategic planning processes across all CPA departments, analyses service territory expansion opportunities, tracks and analyzes organization-wide key performance indicators, and develops dashboards and other tools to support internal and external reporting requirements and data requests. 

Director, Data and Systems

CPA is seeking an experienced professional to drive technological innovation at CPA to help realize its vision as a forward-thinking electricity provider. This position will be responsible for providing quality leadership and oversight of data integrity, data analytics, and electronic data systems used in support of CPA’s operations. The Director, Data and Systems will have the overall responsibility to develop, implement, and sustain data integrity, ensuring compliance with internal requirements and external regulations. 

Energy Market Risk Manager

CPA is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented team member to support the development of its Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system, develop middle office risk models and processes, and perform risk management activities. The position will utilize database concepts, a facility with SQL, Python or similar programing language and analytical and statistical techniques The Energy Market Risk Manager will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing systems, models and processes that support critical risk and procurement analytics and reporting, as well as leading or supporting those activities.

Power Originator

The Power Supply team performs various functions related to the development and management of CPA’s energy supply portfolio, including procurement of renewable, carbon free, conventional energy, demand response, and resource adequacy products to contribute toward CPA’s target portfolio mix, comply with CPA’s hedging strategies, achieve regulatory and legislative targets, and maximize benefits for CPA’s customers. CPA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented power origination professional to support procurement of CPA’s short-term (i.e. terms of 5 years or less) energy products, with a focus on energy hedging and Resource Adequacy products.

Program Manager, Local Government Program

CPA is seeking a detailed-oriented and highly motivated professional with energy experience to join our team as the Program Manager, Local Government Program. a newly created and high-profile role will support the development and implementation of an innovative offering to advance clean energy in partnership with local governments in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Government Affairs Intern

CPA is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Graduate Student or recent Post-Graduate Student seeking experience in the clean energy, sustainability, and outreach fields. Through this internship, you will develop and maintain various projects for our Government Affairs team. CPA internships are typically for a length of 12 weeks.
