CPA’s Community Advisory Committee Seeking New Members to Help Make SoCal More Sustainable

CPA Happenings

The Clean Power Alliance Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is seeking new members to serve as a key resource for CPA’s local community engagement efforts and renewable energy policy initiatives, while helping to guide Southern California to a clean energy future.

The CAC is made up of CPA customers who are local leaders in the areas of renewable energy, public health and community organizing, and advise our Board of Directors on essential programs and community outreach that benefit families and businesses in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The 15-member CAC represents seven sub-regions of our service territory with members coming from a diverse cross-section of community and professional backgrounds and are committed to using their expertise on clean energy issues to improve the lives of residents in the communities we serve, while strengthening the connection between CPA and our customers.

The newest CAC member, Daniel Mora, representing Unincorporated Ventura County, believes joining the CAC builds on his ongoing efforts to improve Ventura communities.

“Renewable energy is the future, and it is really important for us to create coalitions with organizations and groups that leverage resources and skills to make a really big difference.” Daniel continued, “As a union member I know how important renewable energy will be to Southern California and it is really key that it’s not only affordable for our neighbors, but also helps to create great sustainable, lasting jobs.”

The CAC recently held an annual retreat at the West Hollywood Recreation and Aquatic Center facility, which provided an opportunity for members to engage with staff and provide valuable feedback to the CPA Programs team on how to best utilize resources to enhance our programs and support local communities.

The CAC was officially launched in 2019, with the group representing East Ventura/West L.A. County, West/Unincorporated Ventura County, the Gateway Cities, the San Gabriel Valley, the South Bay, the Westside and Unincorporated Los Angeles County.

CAC meetings are open to the public and are held on the third Thursday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
