As we enter the holiday season and 2021 comes to a close, the Clean Power Alliance team would like to highlight several of the contributors, partners, and supporters we were especially thankful for this year, as well as the amazing energy community that helped us serve more than three million local customers.
While we continue to work with our customers and partner communities to overcome the hardships the pandemic has had on our families and communities, we remain committed to advancing programs that help the residents and businesses of Los Angeles County and Ventura County, while sharing progress on our goal of making California green.
In 2021, CPA has been thankful for:
Our customers.
Recently Los Angeles County, Beverly Hills and Redondo Beach voted to move to 100% Green Power. This means that starting in October 2022, their electricity will be created by renewable energy sources like the sun, wind and geothermal. This is great news for local residents and businesses, and even better news for our environment. These communities will join the other 15 member agencies, that will encompass approximately 670,000, or two-thirds of our customers on the 100% Green Power rate plan.
Member Agencies.
We are thankful for the 32 municipalities that are supporting CPA’s mission and leadership by combining their electricity purchasing power as part of Clean Power Alliance. With their ongoing commitment we have continued to achieve our renewable energy and local community support goals, while reducing the use of harmful fossil fuels and helping to make our local communities healthier and cleaner.
Our Board of Directors, Committees and Staff.
The incredible work of our board members, committee members and staff has led to CPA becoming the single largest provider of 100% renewable energy in the nation. Their commitment and hard work recently led to CPA crossing the majority line for both member jurisdictions and customers on 100% Green Power, a big organizational milestone and a huge accomplishment by our amazing teams.
Our Partners.
Without the support of our many energy and community partners CPA would not have been able to supply our customers with the clean, competitively priced, and reliable energy they receive from CPA. These incredible partners enable us to increase support to local communities and support initiatives that work to make our communities more energy efficient.
Before 2022 begins we want to make sure we express our gratitude for every contribution throughout 2021 that helped us meet and exceed our energy and community goals.
We look forward to partnering with you to make next year even more successful!
Happy Holidays from CPA!
