The Clean Power Alliance Board of Directors recently approved five 15-year renewable energy power purchase agreements with Prologis to launch rooftop solar projects in Los Angeles County to provide local resources to serve disadvantaged communities.

The five projects have been procured for CPA’s Power Share program,
part of the Disadvantaged Communities Green Tariff program administered by the California Public Utilities Commissiondesigned to foster development of clean energy resources in disadvantaged communities.

CPA’s Power Share Program reached an important milestone this fall by attaining full enrollment in the program with 6,200 customers. Half of those customers will be served in the future by the new rooftop solar projects, which are expected to become operational by the end of 2023.

Power Share allows thousands of eligible Los Angeles County and Ventura County CPA customers to save money on their energy bills while joining their community in reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions that impact health and quality of life. Customers receive 100% renewable energy at a 20% discount. To date, customers in the program have saved approximately $250,000 on their electricity bills.

The rooftop solar projects, totaling 5.92 MW, will produce enough energy to power more than 2,400 Southern California homes while avoiding 3,768 metric tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually.

For qualifying customers who want to participate in Power Share, there is a waitlist for enrollment. After signing up, customers will be notified when they are added into the program when capacity becomes available. Learn more at cleanpoweralliance.org/power-share
