USING POWER FOR GOOD

The Power Response Multifamily Community Program incentivizes properties and their residents to work together to reduce energy

CPA’s Power Response Multifamily Community Program is an incentivized energy-saving Program for eligible multifamily residents. The Program provides smart thermostats and financial incentives to residents for their participation. When energy use is higher than seasonally projected, participants can save energy to lower costs, create healthier communities and a cleaner grid.

When CPA Power Response customers adjust their energy use, together they are improving air quality and supporting power reliability.

Together, CPA Power Response participants
can reduce 800,000 kilowatt hours of energy.
That is equivalent to taking 100 homes off the grid for a year.

HOW IT WORKS

If your property qualifies for the Power Response Multifamily Program, reach out to your property manager to enroll. After enrolling, your property manager will install a free smart thermostat that automatically responds to Energy Saving Events. The smart thermostats will help you use less energy when cooling and heating spaces, without experiencing uncomfortable temperature changes. You can override the adjustment or simply allow the temperature adjustments to enjoy the benefits.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ONCE ENROLLED

CPA will send enrolled customers an email notification when an Energy Saving Event is scheduled. Your smart thermostat will also notify you via push notification. Enrolled customers who have the app will be notified via the app and thermostat display.

When an Energy Saving Event is called:

  • Smart thermostats will automatically adjust settings to reduce energy use during an Energy Saving Event, the adjustments are small and designed to have little impact on your comfort
  • After any Energy Saving Event, your thermostat will resume normal operation
  • Energy Saving Events generally occur from 4-9 PM on weekdays for about 1-4 hours
  • Energy Saving Events are year-round, and will not exceed 20 events per season
  • You may always opt out of Energy Saving Events by adjusting the thermostat

FAQs

What is CPA’s Power Response Program?
    • CPA’s Power Response Program is a Demand Response program administered by AutoGrid Systems Inc., where participants receive financial incentives for participating in the Program.
    • Demand Response programs encourage consumers to reduce energy usage when electricity consumption is anticipated to be higher than seasonally projected. Demand Response programs provide incentives to participants for temporarily reducing energy usage during Energy Saving Events called by CPA.
    • When the stress on the electricity grid is high, CPA will call an Energy Saving Event and participants in the Power Response Program will be asked to reduce their electricity usage. The reduced usage can decrease stress on the electricity grid and help lower greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition, AutoGrid uses its proven software system and its vast network of partners to provide turnkey programs to the electricity providers and utilities in the US including program design and implementation, payment processing, and consumer support.
