As part of Clean Power Alliance’s core programming to reduce California’s dependence on fossil fuels, CPA launched the Energized Communities program in April 2024. Energized Communities will assist our partner communities in reaching their sustainability and decarbonization goals by providing technical and financial support, focused on implementing electrification projects across CPA’s service territory. This program is designed to empower CPA communities and lead the way toward a more sustainable future. Energized Communities projects will promote resiliency, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ensure a healthier environment while creating new jobs in the green economy.
Energized Communities is made up of two parts: Pathways to Electrification, offering pre-selected measures to support electrification, and the anticipated Innovation Grant to fund creative sustainability projects in our communities. Both the Pathways to Electrification and Innovation Grant may receive up to $250,000 per project. Funding for technical support and incentives will be available over three years to advance resiliency and grid management, electrification, and/or local procurement in our partner communities.
