Clean Power Alliance recently released our 2020 Impact Report, documenting our organization’s overall impact throughout the year to our customers and the communities we serve. We are proud to lead the nation in providing 100% clean power, but it is really the impact we have on the millions of people we serve that we are most excited to share.
The report focuses on strategic areas of impact: Supplying Reliable Clean Power, Customer and Environmental Benefits, Investing in Our Communities, and Building a Self-Sustaining Organization. Here are five of our many proud moments and accomplishments from last year:
Clean Power Alliance became the nation’s leading provider of 100% renewable energy, enabling us to meet California’s ambitious electricity goals 10 years early.
More than 80% of CPA customers, totaling approximately 800,000 households and businesses or over 2.5 million people, received at least 50% renewable energy content with Clean Power Alliance’s Clean Power and 100% Green Power rate plans.
Clean Power Alliance committed $2 million to COVID-19 relief, providing more than 77,000 financially impacted residential and commercial customers with electricity bill assistance. We also launched our Power Share program, which is providing 20% discounts to qualified customers located in Disadvantaged communities.
We contracted 715 megawatts (MW) of new battery storage, making Clean Power Alliance one of the top three energy storage purchasers throughout California.
More than 890,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions were avoided, due to Clean Power Alliance customers’ and communities’ collective choices. This is equivalent to 162,000 homes in Southern California being powered carbon-free.
