CPA Teams Return to Local in-person Community Engagement

This Spring, CPA teams have been able to return to in-person local community engagement by supporting our communities at their events across our SoCal service area. For the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, CPA staff was able to join our communities in celebrating clean energy and helping our communities learn more about CPA.

We kicked off the season joining the City of Downey at the 2022 City of STEM event, where we had the privilege to judge the Innovation Challenge, which encourages Los Angeles County middle school students to use their STEM and critical thinking skills to identify sustainable solutions to address problems affecting lives in Los Angeles County.

CPA followed up by mobilizing our teams in support of Earth Day 2022, where our staff had an exciting time connecting with our communities throughout Los Angeles and Ventura Counties at a total of 13 Earth Day events.

Additionally, CPA Executive Director Ted Bardacke spent Earth Day with our Energy Committee Chair Robert Parkhurst, Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Antony Portantino, and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger at the unveiling of Sierra Madre’s new solar + energy storage system installed at the municipal water treatment facility. This system  serves as a great example of the kinds of resiliency projects CPA is investing in and bringing to local communities through our Power Ready program.

Our Earth Day activities concluded by sponsoring and joining the amazing team at ActiveSGV and thousands of residents at the 626 Golden Streets event. This open street event serves as an opportunity for local residents to walk, jog, bike, skate, stroll, and more in the San Gabriel Valley, connecting with community members, friends, and families.

CPA is grateful for the opportunity to continue to support our local communities and is proud of the partnerships that allow us to engage with our customers in-person once more. To learn more about CPA and our community outreach visit cleanpoweralliance.org.
