Clean Power Alliance’s Ongoing Commitment to Supplier Diversity
Clean Power Alliance (CPA) encourages diverse suppliers to explore contracting opportunities with us, and to reach out to us with questions and suggestions regarding the contracting process.
CPA spends approximately $750 million on power purchases and $20 million on non-energy purchases each year. Utilizing our purchasing power to advance equity and inclusion is a part of our mission of building a clean, equitable, and sustainable energy system.
As a public agency we cannot give preferential treatment based on race, ethnicity, gender, or other classes as proscribed by Proposition 209. We are nevertheless committed to doing everything we can to help build a more diverse and equitable energy-sector supply chain, as well as support workforce development and small, local, and diverse business enterprises in our region.
If your business is a minority, women, LGBTQ, or disabled veteran enterprise, we encourage you to seek certification as a Diverse Business Enterprise through the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Supplier Clearinghouse. Your business does not have to be located in California to be certified here.
Certified suppliers are listed in the publicly accessible Supplier Clearinghouse database. A wide variety of utilities, including Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) like CPA, utilize the Clearinghouse to identify potential bidders for supplier solicitations.
Why apply for certification?
