What is the Smart Light Switch Pilot Program?

Reduce electricity and save money with Flick, your new smart light switch! Clean Power Alliance (CPA) has provided our partner communities with clean energy since 2018. Now, we are proud to partner with your building management to install Flick Smart Light Switches that help remind you to save electricity and help lower your monthly bill.

How Flick helps you save energy and money

We could all use a reminder to turn off our lights or save electricity—your Flick Smart Light Switch does just that! During peak Time-of-Use (TOU periods), when energy is at its most expensive, your Flick Smart Light Switch will automatically glow yellow for regular peak periods (peak-TOU) to tell you that it’s time to take action and reduce your electricity use. You can expect to save:

5% off electricity bills

515 lbs of CO2 emissions/month

2% off on gas bill

Your Flick’s Color-Coded System

Flick’s user-friendly, color-coded system does much more than remind you to save energy. It delivers important community messages and provides humidity and temperature tracking to help you identify early HVAC issues for worry-free maintenance.

What your Flick’s Color Means:

BLUE: This signals an important message from management or CPA, like upcoming maintenance or ways to save even more on your energy bill.

YELLOW: This signals that electricity is not in high demand, but you could still save money by choosing to reduce your usage.

RED: Your sign to use energy-saving tips during times of high demand.

How do I save at home with Flick?

When your Flick glows yellow, you still have total control over your electricity use. It’s simply alerting you that energy is at its most expensive due to high demand. When this happens, use these energy-saving tips to save on your monthly energy bills:
